Oh, I completely agree. I'm a Tori Amos man through and through, since the beginning, but this album has left me cold. I have seen her in concert 12 times. I own over 100 cds, (bootlegs, compilations, soundtracks, etc.),10 books, a t-shirt from every tour, buttons, mugs, hats, stickers...I even spent $250 having two limited edition promo posters framed. I have her autograph, framed with my concert ticket, and it is my prized possession. I have been at a music store first thing in the morning on release day for every album since UTP, but after hearing the first few tracks off this one from various sites, I didn't even bother. I bought it 3 days in, and have listened to it twice. It sounds like she let someone else write the lyrics and then had a special needs mucic group help her compose the music. I don't even know the track listing or any of the lyrics. It is going to stay shelved. And coming from a 36 year old gay man who has a Tori Amos song, lyric, story or quote for every victory, heartbreak, and earthquake in his life, that's saying something.
Given the huge difference between the letdown of the Beekeeper, and the soaring victory of American Doll Posse, we can only hope that the next one kicks enough to make up for this.

I just re-read this, because I SAW the buzz around your head after you wrote that piece for the RockBand site. It was visible. I love the enthusiasm, the passion written on your face, evident in your smile, as you tackle projects that resonate so deeply with you.

Pop culture guru, writer of reviews, commentator on all things comics related -- whatever you choose to write about (and I'm not saying you have to pick ONE! -- I just want to see you do it more *feel the love!*

One of my favorite poems is "Spring and Fall" by Gerard Manley Hopkins [1]. It's about some dude telling a little girl that she's gonna die. Likewise, I think there's more to it than just grimness. I like it because the last two lines rhyme pretty sweetly.

I love Rockstar P! Jackson thinks his name is Jackson Peter Parker. Although, yesterday he said he wants to change it to Drake. :( ick. Since you liked Olivia, how about Oliver? You can't go with Clark b/c it would always seem to me that you named him after my dog. Sorry. Wolfgang?

Stuck on names? If you're not naming it after me, then go with Bruce Wayne Holt, or maybe Clark Kent Holt.
